In January 2020, Kika Sprangers (saxophones), Martin Fondse (piano & keyboards, vibrandoneon) and Jörg Brinkmann (cello, electronics) recorded fourteen instrumental pieces at Splendor Amsterdam, together with producer/engineer Chris Weeda (best known for his work with Toots Thielemans).

“Lumen” is their blueprint for exploring new paths in modern music; an album rich in themes.

This remarkable combination of three composers and performers – with roots in European jazz and chamber music – explores many musical paths. The result is a colourful collaboration full of lyrical and melancholic melodies with a minimalist and cinematic atmosphere.
