At NOMONO, the restaurant and listening bar in Vechtclub XL, Ultrajazz hosted a specially curated program every last Wednesday of the month, set in an intimate, up-close atmosphere. Moving beyond traditional jazz, the series made room for forward-thinking, improvisation-driven music, with artists such as Moon Garden featuring Ella Zirina, Noah Stakenborg and Willem Abelen, as well as the Benjamin Herman Trio, Ben van Gelder, Reinier Baas, Han Bennink and more.
With NOMONO now relocating, we’re cooking up new plans together for the future. In the meantime, we’re gearing up for a series of special Ultrajazz x NOMONO pop-ups—kicking off on May 20 at Touchstone. Mark your calendars.

Thursday nights at Rabo Open Stage are all about jazz, talent development and musical encounters. Under the Ultrajazz banner, Kika Sprangers and Bob Roos host vibrant jam sessions every week. Each session kicks off with a powerful one-hour opening set, in which the host invites different musicians to pay tribute to the jazz tradition – a nod to the heroes of both past and present. After that, the stage opens up to the jamming musicians: whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, everyone is welcome to join in. Four times a month, Het Gegeven Paard becomes the go-to spot for both professional and amateur jazz talent. Rabo Open Stage offers a unique chance to shine, learn and jam together in an open, inspiring atmosphere.
