Alto For Two is the new project from one of the most creative young saxophonists on the current European scene. On the initiative of the Amersfoort Jazz Festival, Kika Sprangers (Nijmegen, 1994) and Irene Reig (Barcelona, 1993) have joined forces to create a programme consisting entirely of their own compositions. They form a quintet with Xavi Torres (piano), Thomas Pol (bass) and Sun-Mi Hong (drums).

These two performing composers, both with strong artistic visions, have their roots in the jazz tradition. They have developed a fresh, distinctive sound within which they differ, yet also find common ground. Alto for Two is a challenging combination of two alto saxophonists who have fully mastered the instrument.
